Disclosure: I have been selected to be a part of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program for the next 3 months in return for my honest opinion and review. All opinions are 100% mine.
I am well into my second week of the Nutrisystem program and have really been enjoying the program. The food is delicious and I love how the program shows you to have portion control in your diet. Instead of eating an entire bowl of ice cream, you will learn to become satisifed with just a few bites. Or, instead of indulging in an entire bag of chips, just have a few to be satisfied. One of the reasons that I love the Nutrisystem plan is the idea that all of your foods are perfectly portioned – this keeps you from overeating. I think this idea of portion control is really starting to stick in my mind!
I thought it would be fun to put together a list of some of my favorite tips that have helped me so far in my Nutrisystem journey so here they are!
Prepare Ahead of Time– With the Nutrisystem program you should eat at least 4 servings of vegetables each day. I find that it is so much easier to get in my veggies when I am prepared and have everything cut up ahead of time. This allows me to have everything ready for a quick salad or snack. I also love to prepare hard-boiled eggs ahead of time so they are ready for me in the refrigerator when it is snack time!
Log all of your Food and Liquid Intake– Nutrisystem has a great app called Numi that allows you to track all of your food and water intake as well as manage your weight loss. There are some other cool features to the app so be sure and check it out! Logging your food each day really allows you to see how many calories that you are putting into your body and the foods that you are consuming for every meal and snack.
Get Creative With Your Veggies– I absolutely love Zucchini! One of my favorite things to do is to use my Veggetti Spiral Vegetable Slicer and make spiralized Zucchini noodles. I take my Nutrisystem entrees (particularly those with a tomato base) and place them on top of the Zucchini noodles. This is to die for! Get creative with your other veggie choices as well. I find that I am now enjoying veggies more than ever before.
Water, Water and More Water– Be sure to drink at least 64 oz. of water each day. Sometimes I feel like I spend a lot of my time in the bathroom with all the water that I am drinking, but water intake is so very important for weight loss. It also makes me feel so much better when I get all of my water in each day. You can also drink diet soda and products like Crystal Light on Nutrisystem, but WATER is the most important!
Dessert- I love that on the Nutrisystem program you get dessert every day! The desserts are amazing! You get everything from Ice Cream Sandwiches to Chocolate Chip Cookies, Fudgy Brownies and everything in-between! You almost feel guilty eating these things but it is all part of the plan!
Contact your Nutrisystem Counselor with any questions or concerns – The Nutrisystem counselors are amazing! My counselor Stephanie has given me some fantastic advice so far and I have been implementing some of her ideas in my plan. The counselors are there for you and to support you along every way of this journey.
Be Patient- What are my results so far? I am down 5 pounds and 2 inches off of my waist. I did not lose any this week, but my counselor told me not to be discouraged. My body is adjusting to all the changes and I should start to lose some more next week. I am noticing a difference in my clothing so that makes me feel really good! My hubby said that he can tell I am losing too so Woohoo! One thing that I try to tell myself daily is the fact that I did not put the weight on overnight so it is not going to come off overnight. It takes willpower and determination to continue on this amazing journey. I am so thankful for this opportunity and that I can make these positive changes in my life.
Stay tuned and please continue to follow me as I strive for a better and healthier me!
