I have tried many different diets over the past several years, and while I have had great results, I feel that sometimes those programs are not sustainable. That is why I am so excited for this new journey! I love that the goal through the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program is progress, not perfection. “Don’t allow perfection to be the enemy of good. What is the FASTer Way to Fat Loss?
The FASTer Way to Fat Loss is a healthy eating program (I would not call it a diet, it is a lifestyle change) that is composed of eating clean, whole foods. You will be eating gluten free, dairy free (as much as possible) all while eating a ton of food and feeling great! You will still have room in your macros for treats so no depravation there!
There FASTer Way to Fat Loss incorporates several key components:
Intermittent Fasting: I think when many people when they hear the word fasting, they get scared and run. Don’t let this intimidate you. This is a core component to the program and you will come to actually enjoy it! You stay in a fasted state for 16 hours and then you will eat during an 8 hour window. I have been fasting the past several days to prepare myself and it has been much easier than I expected. I stop eating at 8pm and then break my fast at Noon. If you need to slowly ease into it, I suggest that you do that during your prep week to prepare your body.
During your fast you may drink coffee, water or herbal tea. You want to make sure that you don’t go over the 50 calorie mark or you will break your fast. For me, this has been the hardest. I love me some cream in my coffee, but I have been using these Nutpods which are dairy free, gluten free and the taste is really great! I am going to experiment with some other dairy free creamers, so stay tuned for what I find!
Carb Cycling: On Mondays and Tuesdays, we partake in Low Carb days and pair it with high intensity interval training workouts. These workouts can be done right at home or they gym. After the through the two low carb days we will refuel our body with carbs for the rest of the week. I LOVE this as Monday and Tuesday we are focusing on lower carb foods and filling our bodies with the good fats that we need, then, when Wednesday comes around we can eat yummy fruits, oatmeal, and other good for you-carbs to refuel!
Macro Counting: Macros are the breakdown of fats, carbs and protein in your food. With the FASTer Way to Weight Loss, we are tracking these to get the best combination of what is best for your body and how you consume the food that is best for your overall performance. We track our Macros through the My Fitness Pal App. This is a free app that tracks everything for you. t breaks down everything for us so we can see fats, carbs and proteins that we are consuming each day. It really does take all the guesswork out. You can even scan barcodes of products, check nutritional values at restaurants and so much more!
Workouts (can be done at home or the gym): You really want to work out at least 5 days a week. There are three different styles of workouts: Beginner, Home and Gym. When you sign up, there are links for videos for all of the exercises you need to do each day. Doing something is better than nothing, so just get up and moving!
What Do You Eat on the FASTer Way to Fat Loss?
You will eat a TON of food! Last night while my coach Stephanie was helping with my plan for today, I could not believe all the food that I have to eat! Really, you can eat whatever you want as long as it is REAL, whole food! I plan on eating lots of good fats, salads, nuts, avocados, sweet potatoes, berries, brown rice and more. I will keep you posted as my journey progresses so stay tuned! I will tell you that it is best to input your food the night before so that you are not scrambling the day of. Preparation is key here!
When you join, your Coach will also give you access to their personal FWTFL Facebook group. This is where you will share meal and snack ideas and really, just be a huge support to one another! I have learned so much already!
