My husband and I recently had the pleasure to dine at the newly renovated Bonefish Grill in South Tampa. Bonefish Grill is hands-down one of our favorite date-night choices, so when given the opportunity to check out the newly renovated restaurant and their current Special Selections Menu, we jumped at the chance to do so. 

First of all, the atmosphere of the restaurant is quite lovely. For me, a great date-night restaurant has that perfect ambiance and lighting to set the mood. Bonefish Grill in South Tampa has definitely achieved that! Every detail of the restaurant from the lighting to the decor is unique and is complete with bonefish sculptures shimmering through the mirrors and glimmering throughout. Each table is soft and romantic with flickering lights to give it a personal touch. 

Secondly, I noticed just how open the restaurant was. As you walk in the door, the bar is to the right while over to the next section you have a large open area with lots of separate tables and booths. There is also a separate large-size banquet room avaialble for parties and business meetings. My husband and I really liked the open flow and feel to the restaurant and how much room that there was for patrons to get up and move around.

Now, on to the food! While Bonefish Grill is known for their amazing appetizer, Bang Bang Shrimp, hubby and I opted for a different starter on this particular evening. On the Current Specials of the Selections Menu was Bacon Wrapped Scallops. Oh yes! I mean how can you go wrong with Bacon AND Scallops together? This starter was superb! The Scallops were paired with a fresh Mango Salsa. Every Bite of Applewood Bacon and Scallops with the Mango Salsa was so yummy and fresh tasting. 

For our entrees, my husband and I both were definitely looking forward to going out of our “normal” Bonefish comfort zone. Would you believe that I have never had Sea Bass before? Well, the entree which I chose, Misoyaki Chilean Sea Bass absolutely blew me away. I would get this dish again and again, it is that good. The flaky grilled sea bass has the most delicious Misoyaki sauce and it is served with sautéed spinach and mushrooms over a bed of jasmine rice! My mouth is watering right now as I thinking about just how delicious this dish is. You. must. try. In fact, it is such a popular dish that Managing Partner Brad Algier Panciera told me that particular Bonefish Grill serves this dish the most of any of the Bonefish Grill locations! How’s that for a yummy fact? 

While I chose the Misoyaki Chilean Sea Bass as my entree, my husband Keith opted for the Lobster Stuffed Shrimp. Oh. Yes, Lobster and Shrimp married togther with a stuffing of Red Peppers and Lemon Butter served over a bed of Creamed Spinach. The shrimp were so large and each bite had a large amount of the Lobster Stuffing. Delish!

Lastly, but certainly not least, no meal is complete without dessert, right? One of my favorite desserts of all-time is Creme Brûlée. I must say that no one makes a Creme Brûlée like Bonefish Grill so when I saw that Chocolate Creme Brûlée Dessert was on the Special Selections Menu, I almost jumped for joy! This dessert is rich, decadent, smooth and oh so amazing! Don’t you love the delicious crunch topping on a regular Creme Brûlée? The crunch on this one is all CHOCOLATE! I am not going to lie, it is very rich and I could not even finish the entire thing! If you are a Chocolate and Creme Brûlée lover, you really must give this a try. I think it is safe to say that you will be in Chocolate Heaven! 

While I was in Creme Brûlée Heaven, Hubby decided that he wanted to have the Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream with Raspberry Sauce. He enjoyed every bite and we both were in a food coma after all of the delicious food that we ate!
