Bonefish Grill is always at the top of our list for favorite date-night restaurants, so when given the opportunity to dine at one of the newly remodeled locations in Bradenton, Lakeland or Venice, we jumped at the chance to do so. Hubby and I chose the Bradenton location, and we could not wait to check out the seasonal offerings on the menu!
When we arrived at the restaurant, I was immediately drawn to the atmosphere. For me, a great date-night restaurant has that perfect ambiance and lighting to set the mood. Bonefish Grill in Bradenton has definitely achieved the perfect vibe. The warm earthy tones with sleek interior design, wall art and lighting give the restaurant the perfect ambiance and mood.
We also noticed how open and spacious that the restaurant was. As you walk in the door, the bar is to the right while over to the next section you have a large open area with lots of separate tables and booths. My husband and I really liked the open flow and feel to the restaurant and how much room that there was for patrons to get up and move about.
What about the food? Dining at Bonefish Grill is always a pleasure because I know that the food and service is going to be fabulous! This time was no exception, and Megan our server was so gracious and attentive to our needs. While I do have my favorite menu items, I was excited to select from the special seasonal menu that is only available for a limited time. How do you decide between so many delicious offerings?
For starters, we chose the Applewood Bacon Wrapped Scallops with Mango Salsa. How can you go wrong with Bacon AND Scallops together? This starter was superb! The Scallops were paired with a fresh Mango Salsa. Every Bite of Applewood Bacon and Scallops with the Mango Salsa was so yummy and fresh tasting. For our main course, I chose Kate’s Wild North Atlantic Haddock and hubby decided on the Fresh Grouper Oscar. Both were excellent choices!
Kate’s Wild North Atlantic Haddock was so tender and buttery. Every bite was perfection and literally melted in my mouth! Haddock is a mildly sweet fish and Bonefish dusts it with garlic crumbs then wood-grills it to perfection. If that weren’t enough, they then top it with artichokes, feta and a divine lemon basil butter sauce. On the side is fresh green beans and mashed potatoes. I am drooling thinking about just how delicious this dish was!
Hubby opted for the Fresh Grouper Oscar which he tells me was equally delicious. The grouper is wood-grilled and topped with fresh jumbo crab meat and lemon butter sauce. It is served with asparagus and your choice of two additional sides. Yum!
No meal is complete without dessert, right? we opted for my all-time favorite dessert at Bonefish, Crème brûlée. Every bite is so luxurious and creamy. It is topped with fresh berries and homemade whipped cream. This dessert is rich, decadent, smooth and oh so amazing! Don’t you love the delicious crunch topping on a Creme Brûlée?
