March is here already, can you believe it? Many of us will be heading into spring break very soon, followed by the summer months. With that being said, there are several things that you should buy during the month of March!
Frozen Foods– Did you know that March is National Frozen Food Month? This means huge savings for us in the frozen food aisles! Be on the lookout for coupons, savings, and special gift card/promotional offers at your local store. This is a great time to stock up the freezer on items like pizzas and chicken nuggets for the kiddos! I love to have these options on hand especially for the weekends!
In-Season Produce– This is my fave! Living here in Florida, I feel that we are blessed to have some of the best produce around. Fresh is best. When we eat seasonally, the products are definitely fresher and tastier. According to Fresh From Florida, March is a great time to stock up on the following in-season produce: Bell Pepper, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carambola, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumber, Eggplant, Grapefruit, Guava, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Oranges, Peanuts, Potatoes, Radishes, Snap Beans, Squash, Strawberries, Sweet Corn, Tangerines and Tomatoes. Stock up now on these items while they are in season. Many of the items can be frozen, so buy plenty and stock away in your freezer for a later date.
Chocolate and Jewelry– With most of the major holidays behind us, many retailers will be clearing their inventory of items like chocolate and jewelry. You may be able to negotiate a great deal on a big ticket jewelry item if you have been holding off! And, many stores will have some really sweet deals on chocolate. If you have a sweet tooth, now is the time to stock up!
Craft Supplies– March is also National Craft Month, so this is a great time to restock your craft supplies! Look to stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Joann for fantastic sales and promotional offers. Don’t forget that most of these stores have a weekly coupon offer to save 40% off one regularly priced item. It is also a great idea to sign up for their email lists. I have received some great coupons from their promotional emails!
Cleaning Supplies– Many of us are ready to dive into spring cleaning! This is a great time to stock up the cleaning cabinet on your favorite supplies. Many stores are offering great sales and promotional offers right now. Be on the lookout for coupons in your Sunday newspaper or Coupons.com, as well as for gift card offers and BOGO sales at your favorite stores.
Gardening Tools/Supplies– If you love to garden, March is a great time to buy new gardening tools. Many folks are getting ready to plant their gardens, and stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot are offering gardening tools and supplies as much as 50% off. Be sure to check their weekly ads to see what sales and promotional offers that they are running.
Luggage– Is it vacation time yet? I have seen some remarkable sales at the major department stores on luggage, and March is a great time to buy new luggage! Many people will be heading out on spring break soon, so stores are highly discounting luggage and other travel necessities right now. If you need new luggage, this is a great time to buy!
Summer Camps– Believe it or not, summer is not that far away! If your child plans on attending a summer camp this year, now is the time to enroll them. Most places will offer a huge savings on enrollment fees if you book early.
