I don’t know about you all, but as a busy mom my slow cooker is my go-to appliance in the kitchen. Since the La Famiglia DelGrosso Grandma Murf’s Italian Style Meatballs are already fully cooked I wanted to use them in a recipe that would not only be quick and easy but delicious as well. These meatballs are so versatile and can be used in many dishes. I was excited to transform them into something other than the everyday Italian meatball dinner. Slow Cooker Sweet N’ Sour Meatballs is the perfect dinner for any night of the week and your family will rave about the delicious flavor!  

Slow Cooker Sweet N’ Sour Meatballs incorporates the delicious and hearty La Famiglia DelGrosso Grandma Murf’s Italian Style Meatballs which are packed full of 9 natural ingredients and the sweet flavor of Sweet N Sour Sauce. Vegetables are then packed into every bite with Tri-Color Pepper Rings and Onions in the Mix! This is a great recipe for getting the kiddos to eat their veggies! What kiddo doesn’t love a yummy meatball with sauce? I serve this yummy goodness over a bed of Jasmine Rice, but you could serve it over Brown Rice or even noodles if you prefer. 

SLOW COOKER SWEET N’ SOUR MEATBALLS 

1 Bag of La Famiglia DelGrosso Grandma Murf’s Italian Style Meatballs 

1 Bottle of your favorite Sweet N Sour Sauce (I used Kikk

1 Large Onion Halved. Chop or Slice the Pieces into rings.

1 Package of Pre-Sliced Tri-Color Pepper Rings (if you can’t find these pre-sliced at your store by all means you can slice them yourself. These pre-sliced packs of veggies are such a time-saver!)

DIRECTIONS:

-Toss the entire bag of meatballs into the slow cooker. 

-Add the Onions and Tri-Color Pepper Rings.

-Pour the jar of Sweet N’ Sour Sauce over the Meatballs and Veggies. 

-Cook on Low for around 4 Hours. 

-Serve over Jasmine or Brown Rice and Enjoy!

Baked Blueberry Oatmeal

One of my husband’s favorite breakfast foods is oatmeal. I recently came across several recipes for Baked Blueberry Oatmeal and decided to give it a whirl on my own. All I can say is–this is absolutely delicious! My husband kept raving about how yummy this was! Not only is this recipe delicious, but it is also very frugal and super easy to make. You could substitute any fruit for this and I think that it would be delicious! I also love the fact this recipe does not use oil but rather applesauce!

INGREDIENTS:

4 tablespoons of melted butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 cup of applesauce (I used the cinnamon variety and it was delish!)

3 cups of quick oats

1 1/2 cups milk

1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 cup of frozen blueberries (I used an entire 10oz. bag)

 

DIRECTIONS:

Mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, applesauce, eggs and milk in a bowl.

In a separate bowl add the oats, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.

Combine the wet mixture with the Oats mixture and add in the frozen blueberries.

Place in a greased baking dish (around 9×9 size)

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.

Serve and Enjoy!

*I love this recipe because you may actually prepare it the night before and place in the refrigerator until the next morning to bake. If you do this add a few extra minutes to the baking time.

Easy Slow Cooker Lasagna

If you love Lasagna but don’t enjoy the tedious task of assembling it, this dish is for you! Lasagna made right in your slow cooker! My family loves this dish and raves over it even more than when I make a regular lasagna in the oven. And, the best part? It can cook in the slow cooker and be ready for you when you need dinner on the table at night!

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound Ground Beef or Ground Turkey

1 Small Onion Diced

Dried Garlic 

Uncooked Lasagna noodles

1 jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce

1 1/2 cups cottage cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese


DIRECTIONS:

Brown the Ground Beef or Turkey with Diced Onion and Sprinkle Dried Garlic over. Drain. Spoon 1 Cup of Spaghetti Sauce over the bottom of the Slow Cooker. Place 2-3 Lasagna Noodles on Top of the Sauce. Next, Place 1/3 of the Meat mixture on top of the noodles. Spread 3/4 Cup of Cottage Cheese on top of Meat Mixture followed by 1/2 cup of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Repeat these steps 2 more times. For the last step, place the 2 tablespoons of Parmesan Cheese on top. Cook on low for 4 hours. Do not cook more than 4 hours or it may get overdone. Enjoy!

I made a few changes to the recipe as I love fresh mozarella, but overall everything else is the same. This is sure to be a must-have pie that everyone in the family will agree is a knockout!

MEATBALL PIZZA

1 12″ Pizza Crust or Premade Dough from the Bakery of your Favorite Pizzeria or Grocery Store (My Publix sells pre-made Pizza Dough in the Bakery)

1 Cup of Pizza Sauce

6 La Famiglia DelGrosso Grandma Murf’s Italian Style Meatballs 

1 Package of Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Cut up into Slices

1 Package of Fresh Basil Leaves

 

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Thaw 6 La Famiglia DelGrosso Grandma Murf’s Italian Style Meatballs and cut them into thirds

Cook meatballs in the Pizza sauce on medium-low heat for 15 minutes.

Remove meatballs with a fork, shaking off excess sauce into the pan, and set aside.

Take Pizza Crust and Spread out onto Pizza Pan.

Use the sauce from the pan and spread evenly to the outside edge of the pizza crust.

Place Mozzarella Cheese in Slices over the Pizza Crust.

Place the meatball pieces on top of the cheese, spacing them evenly apart.

Bake pizza according to

Garnish with Fresh Basil. I actually prefer to take my pizza from the oven a few minutes early and place the Basil on top then.

Easy Breakfast Pizza

Do you ever have those nights when you want Breakfast for dinner? Every once in awhile it is fun to switch things up! I came up with the Breakfast Pizza recipe last month and my family just loves it! This is also a great recipe to take for Brunches. Not only is is yummy, but super easy!

Breakfast Pizza

Ingredients:

1 roll of Breakfast Sausage. I used Turkey Sausage but any kind will do. You could even use Bacon here if you prefer.

6-7 Eggs

1 8oz. Bag of Shredded Monterrey Jack or Cheddar Cheese

1 can of Pizza Crust

1 Block of Cream Cheese

 

Directions:

Pre-bake the Pizza Crust in a 350 degree oven for about 5 minutes.

Brown Sausage in a skillet. Place the block of Cream cheese with the Sausage and let it melt together. Season with salt and pepper for taste.

Spread the Cream Cheese Sausage Mixture over the Pizza Crust. This will be your “Sauce” for the Pizza.

Scramble your eggs in a non-stick skillet then place on top of the Sausage Cream Cheese mixture.

Place Cheese on top of the Scrambled Eggs and Sausage Cream Cheese mixture.

Bake in a 350 degree oven until Crust is golden and cheese is melted.

Enjoy! :D

Options: You could really add whatever toppings that you like to this pizza. I was thinking that maybe shredded hashbrowns or Green peppers/onions would also be tasty additions.

GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS:

3 Tablespoons of butter

6 Cloves of Minced Garlic

2- 3 Chicken Breasts Chopped into Bite Size pieces

Sea Salt

1/4-1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese or more to your liking

2 Cups Fresh Spinach (I actually used the entire bag and it wilted down a lot)

DIRECTIONS:

Sautee the Garlic in the butter just until golden.

Add the Chicken Breast pieces and a pinch of salt and cook until no longer pink.

Add the parmesan cheese and let it melt through the chicken mixutre.

Now add the spinach and let it wilt through.

Serve over pasta or Zucchini noodles. I served it over Zucchini noodles (made from my Veggeti) and it was absolutely divine!

Paula Deen’s Slow Cooker Potato Soup Recipe

The temps today here in Florida are frigid so this is going in the Slow Cooker! What better to stay warm than with a big bowl of yummy soup? 

This Potato Soup recipe is originally from Paula Deen so I can in no way take credit for it. All of her recipes are so good and this one is no exception! I love how this recipe is unique and uses Diced Frozen Hasbrown Potatoes as the base. I must tell you, this soup is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and you won’t be able to stop at just one bowl! Winking smile

INGREDIENTS:

1 30oz. bag of Frozen Hashbrown Potatoes (the Diced cubes not the shreds)

1 10.5 oz. can of Cream of Chicken Soup

2 14oz. cans of Chicken Broth (I used about half a carton)

1/2 cup of chopped onion

Salt and Pepper to Taste

1 8oz. block of softened room temperature cream cheese

 

DIRECTIONS:

Place all of the ingredients except for the cream cheese into the slow cooker. 

Cook on Low for around 5 hours. 

Add in the block of cream cheese and let sit for around 30 minutes. 

Stir the Cream Cheese around to make sure that it is all melted.

Top with your favorite fixin’s like Bacon Bits, Shredded Cheese or even Green Onions.

Serve and Enjoy!

Four Ingredient Butterfinger Pie

If you need a quick and yummy dessert this weekend, this one is always a hit!

One of my all-time favorite candy bars is the Butterfinger so this recipe is right up my alley! It is not only delicious but super easy as well. In fact, it has only 4 ingredients!

INGREDIENTS:

1 pre-made Graham Cracker Pie Shell

1 8oz. block of Cream Cheese softened to room temperature

1 (12.5 ounce) bag Fun Size Butterfinger candy bars, crushed

1 12oz. container of Cool Whip

 

DIRECTIONS:

Reserve 1/2 of the crushed Butterfinger Candy Bars.

Mix together the Softened Cream Cheese, Cool Whip and Crushed Butterfinger Bars. I used a hand mixer to make sure that everything is incorporated together.

Place mixture in the pre-made Graham Cracker Crust.

Sprinkle the reserved Crushed Butterfinger Bars on the top of the pie.

Refrigerate for at least two hours or until ready to serve. This tastes even better the longer that it sets.

Enjoy! You will not be able to stop at one piece! 

7 Easy & Delicious Slow Cooker Freezer Meals!

These Slow Cooker Freezer meals have been a huge blessing while I am recovering from surgery! They are Easy and Delicious and they allow my hubby to get a dinner on the table super quick! Here are 7 of my favorite recipes -Enjoy!

Salsa Chicken: 

  • 4 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Jar of Salsa
  • 1 Block of Cream Cheese (to be used later in the cooking process)  
  1. Combine the Chicken Breasts and Salsa in a Freezer bag and place in Freezer. When it is time to cook, Place the mixture in the slow cooker and cook for 4-6 hours or until done. During the last 30 minutes of cooking place the block on cream cheese in the slow cooker and let it melt.
  2. Serve over Rice. This is also great shredded into burritos or tacos with all the fixin’s!

 

Salad Dressing Chicken

  • 4 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Bottle of your Favorite Salad Dressing
  1. Combine the Chicken Breasts and Bottle of Salad Dressing together in a Freezer bag and place in Freezer. When it is time to cook, place the mixture in the slow cooker and cook for 4-6 hours or until done.
  2. Serve over rice or noodles with a Vegetable.

 

Savory Pepper Steak

  • 1½ lbs round steak, cut into ½ in strips
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 (16 oz) can Italian style tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp beef bouillon
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp steak seasoning
  • 1 tbsp steak sauce
  1. Toss steak in salt, pepper, & flour and add to gallon-sized freezer bag. In a med bowl mix together the rest of the ingredients, add to bag. Zip close and place in freezer. When ready to use thaw in fridge overnight. Empty contents into crock-pot and cook on low 8 hours.
  2. Serve over rice.  

 

Sweet & Sour Meatballs

  • 1 (16oz) pkg frozen fully cooked meatballs
  • 1 onion – diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 (16-18oz) bottle sweet & sour sauce
  • 1 cup pineapple tidbits, drained
  1. Place the frozen meatballs, peppers, onions & sweet and sour sauce into a gallon-sized freezer bag. Zip close & place in freezer. When ready to use thaw in fridge overnight. Empty contents into crock-pot and cook on low 4 hours. You can wait to add the pineapple towards the end of the cooking process if you prefer, but I just add it in with the frozen mixture and dump it all in the slow cooker at the same time.
  2. Serve over rice.

 

Teriyaki Pork Chops

  • 4 pork chops, about 1 in thick
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ? cup chicken broth
  • salt & pepper to taste
  1. Sprinkle salt & pepper on pork chops if desired, place in a gallon-sized freezer bag. In a small bowl mix garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, and chicken broth together, add to bag. Place flat in freezer, when ready to use thaw in fridge overnight. Empty contents into crock-pot and cook on high 4-5 hours or low 6-7 hours.
  2. Serve over Rice or Mashed Potatoes with a Vegetable.

 

Chicken Broccoli Alfredo

  • 4-6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 (16 oz) bag frozen broccoli florets
  • 2 (16 oz) jars Alfredo sauce (I use light)
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1 (4 oz) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  1. Split ingredients in half.
  2. Place all ingredients in 2 resealable gallon-sized freezer bag and mix together.
  3. When ready to eat, remove from freezer and thaw in fridge overnight. Empty contents into crock-pot and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
  4. Serve over Noodles.

 

Apple BBQ Pork Tenderloin

  • 1-2 lb pork tenderloin
  • 1 cup chunky applesauce
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp minced dried onion 
  1. Place pork tenderloin in a gallon-sized freezer bag, in a medium bowl mix together applesauce, BBQ sauce and onion, add to bag. Zip close and freeze. When ready to use thaw in fridge overnight. Empty contents into crock-pot and cook on low 6-8 hours, or high 3-4 hours.
  2. Serve over Rice or Pasta with a vegetable.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Made With Cake Mix

I don’t know about you all, but it seems that we always have those few over-ripe bananas sitting in the fruit bowl. I hate to throw them out, but sometimes I just don’t have the time to make a homemade banana bread or muffins.

I recently came across a recipe that uses Cake Mix for the Banana Bread. This recipe is very versatile and you can really change it around in various ways if you prefer. Here is what I came up with and the end result is delicious! The bread is also super moist!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

INGREDIENTS:

1 Yellow Cake Mix (any brand would work but I used Pillsbury)

3 eggs

1/3 cup oil

3-5 mashed bananas

1/2 bag of chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. (I actually just used 1 loaf pan and 1 muffin pan)

Mix all ingredients together until well blended and pour into baking pans.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. My bread actully took around 40 minutes so I would suggest just keeping an eye on it at the 3o minute mark.

Take out of oven and cool for about 10 minutes.

Enjoy! This is really moist and my boys loved it!
