Summer vacation is quickly approaching! My boys get out next week! One of the things that my boys love to take advantage of each year are the free Summer reading programs that are available. There are several being offered this year so take note and sign the kiddos up!

Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program– The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is here to help you on your way, encouraging you to read books of your own choosing and earn a FREE book, simply by following these three easy steps:
1. Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal. Tell us which part of the book is your favorite, and why.
2. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 16th and September 5th, 2017.
3. Choose your FREE reading adventure from the book list featured on the back of the journal.
TD Bank Summer Reading Program– This is a great program that will not only teach your child to have a joy for reading, but it will also teach them the value of saving money!
Kids in grades K-5 can participate by following these easy steps:
Read 10 books this summer
Print out the Summer Reading Form
Write down the names of the books read on the form
Take the form to the nearest TD Bank
Receive $10 in a new or existing TD Simple Savings account
Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge– Are you ready to take a reading adventure this summer? Let’s get started! (May 8-September 8, 2017)

LifeWay R.E.A.D. Summer Program– Summer reading kickoff party begins May 26-27. Come in store to grab your FREE Summer Reading Program Journal, Bookmark and Pencil. Join the 2017 Summer Reading Quest with Bibleman, June 1 to Aug. 31. Read six books over the course of the summer and memorize six Scripture verses. Turn in a completed summer reading journal at your local LifeWay store to earn a free book and a new free Bible.
Chuck E. Cheese– Your child can earn Free tokens every time that they read! Just print out the bookmarks and bring them to your local Chuck E. Cheese. Each bookmark is worth 5 Free tokens.
Book Adventure by Sylvan– Book Adventure is a fun, free way to motivate your child to read! Kids in grades K-8 can search for books, read them offline, come back to quiz on what they’ve read, and earn prizes for their reading success.
Books-A-Million Summer Reading Challenge– Read any 4 books from the reading challenge selection both online and in-store and receive a Free Maze Runner Series water bottle. This is available for both kids and teens.
Half Price Books– Read 15 minutes a day to keep up an appetite for reading all summer long. (Grown-ups may read aloud to kids who are still learning.) Download and use the reading log, add up your minutes and have your parent or guardian initial each week. Once you’ve reached 300 or more minutes, bring your log to your local HPB to claim your Bookworm Bucks on or before August 31, 2017.
Local Public Library– Don’t forget your local public library as they offer many reading programs for kids of all ages during the Summer months. These programs usually offer free books and prizes.
Reading With the Rays– Local Tampa Bay kids will love this reading program! Get your official game card at your local library in one of the following counties: Citrus, Charlotte, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk or Sarasota. Then, choose your favorite books or your favorite section of the Tampa Bay Times to read over the summer. As you read, track your hours by rounding the bases and collect Rays rewards along the way.
