Saving Grace: Everyday Costs You Can Cut Back On

(All posts may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy)

For a lot of people, saving money is something which always seems to remain just out of reach. Once you have paid for all your other expenses each month, you may be one of those people who finds that you don’t have anything left over to put away. But a few changes to your habits could help to yield some big results and put you in a much better position.

One of the main reasons why people get into debt is that they don’t have any money put aside for financial emergencies. If debt is something that has impacted you at any point during your life, check out fixmy.credit for ways in which you can get your credit score back on track. Here are a few ways in which you can find money to save every month.

Record Your Expenses

The first thing that you need to do is to make an inventory of all your expenses so you can find out exactly where your money is going every month. Remember, the little things all add up so don’t forget to include the small details like your morning cup of coffee. Once you have done this, you will be in a better position to work out what you can cut from your lifestyle. Any money that you have left over from this budget can then be channelled into a savings account.

Cut Down on Your Bills

Of course, you will have certain essential bills like gas and electricity which you simply can’t cut back on, but there are likely to be some other ones that you may be paying out every month without really thinking about it. For example, your gym membership is probably hugely expensive and it is especially a waste of money if you never use it. You may be paying a big cable bill for channels that you don’t watch all that often.

Make a Shopping List

Before you go out to do any shopping, you should make a list and stick to it. Impulse buying is rarely a good idea and you are much less likely to do this if you have thought of everything you need before you actually get to the shops. Not only this, it is much better for the planet as you won’t end up throwing away vast quantities of food every month.

Stop Buying Things Because of the Label

There is no doubt that branding is big business, but so much value gets added to a product once the brand has been built. So, when you need to buy something – whether it is food or clothing – try going for the unbranded items instead. You are likely to save a great deal of money and you may not actually notice that much of a difference at all.

Saving money is a worthwhile habit to get into and these are just four ways in which you can free up some cash every month so you have something to put aside for a rainy day.

LipSense Review

Disclosure: I received product to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Please see my disclosure policy)

If you are anything like me, having a beautiful yet long-lasting lip color is very important! Let’s face it – who has the time to reapply their lip color several times throughout the day? I have found the perfect solution! LipSense!

LipSense is a game-changer when it comes to lip color!  In fact, LipSense is unlike any conventional lipstick, stain or color. As the original long-lasting lip color, it is waterproof, does not kiss-off, smear-off, rub-off or budge-off! Create your own color palette by combining colors from over 50 shades. And, the color will last between 4- 18 hours!

I was recently given the opportunity to try this product from my friend Devon who is a LipSense distributor. Because this is a review of the product, that I received, I wanted to pass along some of the pros and cons. Overall, I really like the LipSense products that I was given and would definitely purchase more shades. As a busy mom, I love how long-wearing the product is and that I don’t have to keep reapplying throughout the day. I only have to reapply the Glossy Gloss for a nice shine. The color really does last! I put the product on in the morning and later in the evening the color is still there! That is at least 8 hours of wear! Between meals, coffee, water and other things. I am amazed that the color stayed on that long! My only con to the product is that you are supposed to apply the color 3 times and wait several seconds in-between applications for it to dry. Some folks may not like this, but it really is not that bad.

Here are some facts about the product and layering:

Layering LipSense: Layering LipSense is a must due to the fact the color breaks down with the pH balance of the skin.

1st layer: touches the skin’s pH and will begin to break down first and fastest.

2nd layer: protected from the bottom, away from the skin’s pH, by the first layer.

3rd layer: protects the second layer from the top down and prevents sheering of second layer of color by keeping away friction, saliva, and the natural environment. The third layer breaks down just like the first layer, but from the top down. The second layer is sandwiched between the first and third and is protected by both for the longest period of use. Pretty cool, right?

What about the cost? I feel that LipSense is definitely a good value for the money. Considering that you are not reapplying the product every few hours. The only thing that I find myself reapplying is the Glossy Gloss. Shades are $25 and the Glossy Gloss is $20. When you consider how much you pay for a department store lipstick, this really is a good value.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is searching for a new long-wearing lip color. My friend Devon would love to help you choose which shade is right for you. You can check out her Facebook group and she will be happy to help you get beautiful lips as well!

The photo below show just how long the color lasts. I put the color on first thing in the morning and 5 hours later it still looked fabulous! You must try this product!

Below is a great video on lip application. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Devon. She is so great at what she does and would love to help you!
