The Grand Mac takes the experience to a new, larger level with one-third of a pound of beef. Same great combo of flavors, just on a Grander scale. On the other hand, the Mac Jr. provides the full taste of the Big Mac with a single, large beef patty and without the middle bun – making it more accessible on the go with all the flavors of the beloved Big Mac. Then, of course we have the classic Big Mac that we all have loved for years!
My family and I had the opportunity to test out the Big Mac family last week for ourselves and we had so much fun trying the variations of this delcious sandwich!
McDonald’s Big Mac Family:
Grand Mac is prepared with one-third pound* of 100-percent beef and two slices of American cheese served on a larger, three-decker sesame seed bun with crisp lettuce, minced onions, and tangy pickles.
Mac Jr. is a single-decker Big Mac that’s easier to eat on the go. The Mac Jr. is not small; it offers all of the delicious taste of the Big Mac, with one 100-percent beef patty and without a middle bun.
Both sandwiches are variations of the original Big Mac, which classically boasts two 100-percent beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun (But, only Big Mac has its own jingle).
Of course, hubby just had to try the Grand Mac. He said that it was amazing and I noticed that he had sauce dripping down his hands. It is a bit messier, but so delicious!
My son Drew preferred the regular Big Mac sandwich. He actually had never eaten a Big Mac before and kept raving about how delicious that it was! I think it is safe to say that he has a new favorite menu item at McDonald’s!
While Hubby preferred the Grand Mac, I opted for the Mac Jr. I have to tell you that I love how small the sandwich is and the fact that it is so portable. This is especially great if you are on-the-go and want the flavors of a Big Mac but not have to worry about how large the sandwich is. I also noticed that it has less bread whichh is a plus!
