You all know I am always on the lookout for smart ways to save money every day. I often use coupons and discounts when I shop. I’m keen to make my dollars work harder and stretch farther with every purchase. These days, life is very expensive, so it makes sense to do what you can to reduce the cost of living as much as you can.
For me, I’m taking it to the next level. I regularly review my spending and bills to see where I can become even more frugal. It’s important to me to make the most of my hard earned cash. Sure, we all have bills we have to pay. But we also need to enjoy those little treats once in awhile. Life’s little pleasures don’t come cheap. I need to tighten my belt in every part of my life to enjoy them!
My monthly bills include my mortgage. This is one of those outgoings that you tend to forget about. It just has to be, right? Wrong. There are plenty of mortgage providers out there. So shop around just as you would with any other purchase.
Take the time to see mortgage advisors for more information about the types of loans they offer. One of them could save you a fortune. Have you ever had a fixed-rate mortgage? Knowing exactly how much your mortgage will cost you every month means your budget can be even more precise. It takes the worry out of fluctuating interest rates too.
Energy bills are something I regularly gripe about. I’m always telling everybody to turn the light off or the TV off when they’re done. Did you know that you can save a fortune by turning your heating down by just one degree over the cold spell? Wear a jumper for comfort and see that bill come down.
Have you revised your phone bills recently? If you’re not using all the free data or minutes, why not swap to a cheaper tariff? Phone companies are supposed to advise you of the most appropriate tariff for your use, but why not pre-empt them and start saving today?

Why is food becoming so expensive? I don’t think we’ll ever find the true answer to that. But there are ways you can save on your grocery bill every month. Batch cooking is a favorite of mine. It saves on the energy bills too. Cook up extra portions of your evening meal and freeze the excess for another night.
How about growing your own? You can save a little on seasonal vegetables by growing them in your own backyard. This can turn into a nice little income too as you sell on your excess
produce. Bake your own bread, and create your own smoothies to save even more money on your grocery bill.
Monthly bills tend to be paid automatically out of your bank account. Some people prefer to save in advance for them and pay in cash from the piggy bank. If you often forget why you’ve got that extra cash in your account, then that can be a helpful way to avoid going overdrawn. Spend wisely today.
