Decorating for the Holidays on a Budget

I love to decorate for all of the Holidays, but there is just something spectacular about the Fall and Thanksgiving season! From the sites and smells and the Fall foliage (if you are lucky enough to live near it) and everything in-between!

I pulled out my Fall decorations this past weekend to do some decorating around the house. I needed a few new items to add to the mix so I decided to head to Dollar Tree (yes, Dollar Tree!) where I found some of the cutest Fall decorations for just $1! If you are on a tight budget and want to spruce up your house for Fall, I highly suggest heading to your local Dollar Tree as you may be surprised at what items you can find!

I also suggest, that if your budget allows, to shop the clearance section when stores are trying to clear our their Holiday items. Michaels, Target and other stores will have their Holiday items 50-75% off typically a few weeks after the Holidays, and that is the time to buy for the next season!

For example, this is the Wreath on my front door. Believe it or not, this was actually a centerpiece from Michaels that I found on clearance last year for around $6. I bought the Wooden letter B in the Craft section for $1, added some rope to the back and and voila I have a Gorgeous Fall Wreath! Thinking outside of the box can be FUN & FRUGAL!

I would also suggest that you buy pieces which can be transformed for all of the Holidays. This Glass Hurricane Vase is a great example. I bought this for around $4 at Old Time Pottery several years ago and can change what goes inside it depending on which Holiday it is. For Fall, I purchased these adorable packs of Pumpkins and Gourds for only $1 at the Dollar Tree. For Christmas, I was thinking of adding some Cinnamon Sticks and a Candle. You can really think outside of the box with Classic pieces such as this!

My local Dollar Tree had some really cute items for Fall. These little pumpkins were just $1 and they really make the Floral Arrangement on my table that much cuter! The flowers that are in my centerpiece were all from the Dollar Tree as well. The Vase that the flowers are in was another Michaels seasonal Clearance find for $1.50!

The scarecrow and little pumpkins on the shelf pictured at the top of this post were also found at the Dollar Tree! I also found this adorable “Give Thanks” sign that I placed on the top of my mirror for, yep, you guessed it $1 at Dollar Tree!

Decorating for the Holidays doesn’t have to be expensive if you shop clearance sales for the next season. Also, be sure to check out your local Dollar Tree and Craft Stores.

What about you? What tips do you have for decorating for the Holidays on a budget? I would love to hear from you!
