Not only do I love to help you save your hard-earned money, but I want to share with you some time-saving tips that have been helpful to me both as a mommy and a wife.
I know that the tips I will share with you are nothing new or out of the ordinary, but they are things that have helped to make my life easier!
My Time-Saving tip for Today: Utilize the best appliance that you have in your kitchen- THE CROCKPOT!
Now, my friends are probably tired of me talking about the crockpot; but, I absolutely LOVE it and, boy, does it save me time! You can just throw a roast, chicken or stew in the morning and at night, when you are tired, or you had an unexpected event earlier in the day, you won’t have to stop and think about what you are going to make for dinner! It is basically ALL done for you! 😉
For example, this morning I knew that I had to go out and run errands and would be super busy, so I put in a pork loin with onions, barbecue sauce, and honey in the crockpot on low. Tonight, we will have pulled pork sandwiches along with some roasted zuchini and squash that I will throw into the oven. Voila-it is that simple! Dinner is done! 😉
There are so many great crockpot recipes out there! I would love to hear some of your favorites!
I hope that the next time you look at your crockpot you will think of it is a time-saver and not just another appliance that is taking up space on your counter!

Do you love to experiment and try out new things in the kitchen like me?
I love to bake and cook all year long, but this time of the year is even more fun because I am always trying out new desserts and other recipes for holiday parties and get-togethers!
This past weekend, I tried out a yummy new SNOWBALL CAKE recipe from Kraft Food and Family magazine. Not only is it easy to make, but most of the ingredients for the cake are already things that you will have in your pantry! It is also very inexpensive! The thing that I loved the most about this recipe though? You make and bake the cake in an OVENPROOF bowl! 😉
Here is your list of ingredients:
-1 pkg. (2 layer size) devil’s food cake mix
-1 8 oz. pkg softened cream cheese
-1 egg
-2 tbsp. granulated sugar
-1 pkg. (3.4 oz) vanilla instant pudding
-1/4 cup powdered sugar
-1 cup cold milk
-2 cups thawed Cool Whip
-1 cup flaked coconut
STEP 1: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake batter in a 2 1/2 qt. OVENPROOF bowl as directed on the package; scrape sides of bowl. Beat cream cheese, egg and granulated sugar until well-blended; spoon cream cheese mixture into center of batter in bowl.
STEP 2: Bake 1 hour and 5 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in bowl for at least 10 minutes. I would actually recommend cooling the cake in the bowl for longer if possible. As you will see in my pictures, part of the top of the cake came apart because it was still a little too hot. It was fine though since I was able to cover it with frosting later! 😉 Place cake on a cooling rack and let cool completeley.
STEP 3: Beat dry pudding mix, powdered sugar and milk in a medium bowl with whisk for about 2 minutes. Stir in Cool Whip. Refrigerate frosting mixture until ready to use.
STEP 4: Place your cake on a plate; frost with pudding mixture and cover with coconut! You could even add red/green sprinkles or chocolate shavings to make it more decorative! The possibilities are endless!
This was so delicious! As you can see from the pictures, when you cut into the cake, the top part under the frosting is where the cream cheese layer is!
